Trumpet sensation Maurice “Mobetta” Brown deftly navigates the worlds of contemporary jazz, blues-rock and hip-hop. An accomplished trumpeter, composer, arranger and producer, he expertly blends be-bop, hip-hop and rock to create riveting musical journeys. A Chicago native, Brown won the Miles Davis Trumpet Competition as a teenager, studied under clarinetist Alvin Batiste in Louisiana and recorded his acclaimed debut HIP TO BOP in New Orleans. After moving to New York, he recorded with household names like Aretha Franklin, Wyclef Jean and The Roots.
